Billboard: Stevie Wonder, Dave Stewart To Perform On Cancer Telecast
Stevie Wonder will join Natasha Bedingfield, Queen Latifah, Martina McBride, Aaron Neville and Dave Stewart for a performance on the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) TV fundraiser at 8pm ET on Sept. 10.
The collaboration will be part of an “extraordinary line-up of actors, musicians, athletes and journalists,” according to a statement. The various participants have banded together for Stand Up To Cancer, an initiative aimed at raising funds to accelerate cancer research.
The one-hour fundraising event will be simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, the Style Network, TV One, and VH1.
Executive produced by Laura Ziskin, the program will be hosted by network news anchors Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams. Other stars who have signed up to take part include Ray Liotta, Seth Rogen, Delta Goodrem, Mandy Moore, Michael C. Hall, Sharon Osbourne, the Edge and Reese Witherspoon.
The previous telecast SU2C telecast in 2008 was viewed in more than 170 countries and helped raise over $100 million.
